Women's Chorus is not only a unique group of girls, but it has a story behind it as well. Women's Chorus was started the 1995/1996 school year at Paradise High School to solve a major problem that was occuring in chorus. That problem basically was that there were too many people in chorus to fit on the risers. So, my director had a choice, he could either cut about 30-40 incoming freshman girls from chorus or he could create a new class. I'm sure you can guess what he did.
This choir consists of mostly of freshman girls, continuing the tradition that began this chorus. All freshmen girls coming in to Paradise High School that try out and make it into chorus go into this class. That doesn't mean, though, that the class is all freshmen, like it was the first year. Some sophomores stay behind another year to keep singing in Women's Chorus and even juniors and seniors. Some juniors and seniors even switched from Mixed to this chorus, while others (including some Topcats) opted to do both (or all three) choruses.
Women's Chorus is an all right group. They do, of course, have a younger and less talented sound but they do get better as the years roll on.
